Decker lived in Georgia when she was fifteen years old. Decker felt dissatisfied by the two other singles from the album the executives of the record label in search of more influence. Decker then released her second single Boys in the Summer which was more traditional. Decker launched her sophomore album under two names: Sweet American Dreams or Daughter of a Gypsy. Mercury shelved it after the first three singles failed to make it onto the country charts. Decker then was let go from the contract.
