Suzy Kolber was born Suzanne Lisa Kolber in Philadelphia Pennsylvania on 14th May 1964. She was born to her Jewish family. Suzy Kolber, who is now 58. Sandra Kolber, her mother is named. Gene Kolber, is the father. In 1982, she graduated from Upper Dublin High School and Sandy Run Middle School. In 1986 she graduated with an undergraduate degree in Arts with a telecommunications concentration from University of Miami. In her first year at college she landed a job at Dynamic cable located in Coral Gables Florida as a Sports Director. Additionally, she worked for Dynamic Cable for two years starting in 1984 till 1986. In addition, she was a member of the University of Miami water skiing team at the time. Plaza was a part of the local community theatres in Wilmington and performed in improv shows as well as directing short plays. Her move from Wilmington to New York City after high school to study in TV and film production at the New York University Tisch School of the Arts as well as taking classes in comedy at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre. She was just 20 when she suffered an injury to her brain that resulted in temporary expressive aphasia (a deficiency in the expression and comprehension of language).
